OK, here we go again! To do the 9's table, there is a trick to learn to make it easy! Remember the 9's trick we had for addition? Now there is a 9's trick for multiplication. Nine is a tricky number! Let me show you and see if you catch on.

9 x any number
Step back one from that number,
Then use the number that would add to that number to make 9

Hmmmmmm.... That sounds complicated. But when we put it into practice with real numbers, let's see if it makes any more sense!

9 x 5 =
Step back one from the 5 . . . that gives you 4
Then use the number that would add to 4 to make 9 . . . that would be 5
So the answer is 45.

Let's try one more together, then I'll let you do some on your own!

9 x 3 =
Step back one from the 3 . . . that gives you 2
Then use the number that would add to 2 to make 9 . . . that would be 7
So the answer is 27.

See how easy that is? You try a few!

9 x 2 = Step back one from 2... The answer is... 29   18   16

9 x 4 = Step back one from 4... The answer is... 94   46   36

9 x 6 = Step back one from 6... The answer is... 54   69   96

9 x 7 = Step back one from 7... The answer is... 63   97   67

9 x 8 = Step back one from 8... The answer is... 98   97   72

9 x 9 = Step back one from 9... The answer is... 99   81   89

That set is so easy it's almost TOO easy! You are doing great!
Let's GO ON to the next set!
